Joshua Cavello, an Australian football player, made a statement on his instagram account. In his posted statement he publicly announced that he is gay. He said that the only thing he wants is to just play football and be treated equally. Joshua Cavello is one of the relatively few men in the football scene to publicly come out as gay. In addition, he's the only openly gay top-levelprofessional football player. There is a stigma surrounding footballers being gay in the football world. In the serie 'sex education' there are diffrent stories to follow from people who are straight, bi, lesbian, gay, queer and much more. The characters go explore themselves and each other in different stories. This series is very much involved with inclusivity because it shows all types of people and their life. This is not very common to be shown in a tv series or even regular tv. It breaks the stereotype of only showing heterosexual men and women making love on the tv.

Lady Gaga made a song about diversity in which she encouraged everyone to be themselves. One of the lyrics in the song is ‘’ No matter gay, straight or bi. Lesbian, transgendered life. I’m on the right track, baby. I was born to survive. ‘’ The reason why this song is involved with inclusivity is because it shows that everyone should be themselves no matter who you are. It breaks through a lot of stereotypes around sexuality and gender by including all kinds of people and the way they are.
In this movie we follow the life of Chiron Harris through the three stages (youth, puberty and maturity) of his life. He grows up in a deprived neighbourhood where he struggles with his sexuality, namely being gay, leading to his struggle with his own identity. In the community he’s born and raised in homosexuality is a taboo. The men are expected to be and behave as masculine as possible. The stereotypes which state that ‘real’ men are heterosexual and solely heterosexual men can be masculine dominate the believes of the majority of the community. In this atmosphere of intense (toxic) masculinity Chiron is hiding his true sexuality but also breaks through these stereotypes by just being who he is. He’s in fact embodying the contradiction of these stereotypes .
